Jutta Jacobi: Reading from "Königin ohne Land. Kristina von Schweden"

400 years ago Christina (or Kristina) of Sweden was born. As a six-year-old, in the middle of the Thirty Years' War, she lost her father, King Gustavus Adolphus II of Sweden, and soon succeeded him on the throne. But at the age of 27 she voluntarily abdicated and went into Roman exile.

Germanist and theatre scholar Jutta Jacobi has devoted her latest book, "Königin ohne Land. Kristina von Schweden" ("Queen without a Land. Kristina of Sweden"), to this unusual woman. She presents it on the island of Usedom, of which the queen was once sovereign.
