Today Martin Fröst is one of the most prominent faces of Swedish musical culture worldwide. As clarinettist, conductor, arranger and programmatic visionary, he takes unusual paths in dialogue with his audience. In Peenemünde, however, with Mozart's Clarinet Concerto, he shows just how much the great Classical tradition still matters to him.
Latvian conductor Andris Poga leads the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra in the cheerful "Midsummer Vigil" by Sweden's Hugo Alfvén and the monumental "Manfred Symphony" by Pyotr Tchaikovsky.
