Estel Vivó Casanovas

From Barcelona, the saxophonist Estel Vivó Casanovas's path led to New York, where she studied at the Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester and is now writing her doctoral thesis.

Last late autumn she won the renowned Young Concert Artists competition in New York — a competition with which the Usedomer Musikfestival has cooperated for more than thirty years. For her laureate concert she has brought arrangements of six Spanish folk songs by Manuel de Falla, who would have celebrated his 150th birthday this year.
